The Second World War veterans spoke to pupils from three schools about their wartime experiences as the 80th anniversary of the landings approach on June 6.
Richard Aldred, Stan Ford, Ken Hay, Alec Penstone, Henry Rice, Donald Howkins, Gilbert Clarke, John Dennett and Mervyn Kersh, spoke to the youngsters, aged between 10 and 14, at the Union Jack Club near Waterloo, South London.
Organisers said they hoped the event, which also featured dancing with the D-Day Darlings troupe, would help the younger generation understand what those serving in the war went through in a bid to prevent future conflict.
