Chunnel closed by power failure sparks travel chaos
THOUSANDS of getaways were ruined when the Channel Tunnel was shut for hours by a power supply problem and a failed train.
Eurostar told passengers to re-book for a different date and avoid London St Pancras station if their train's cancellation was confirmed. Trains were running again later in the day but long delays were anticipated.
Drivers planning to use the LeShuttle rail service through the tunnel also faced travel chaos, with lengthy traffic jams on the approach to the terminal in Folkestone, Kent.
