Car used 'as weapon' on Good Samaritan

Dad-of two Chris was helping injured stranger after family wedding brawl

A DRIVER used his vehicle as a weapon to murder a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help a woman injured during a wedding brawl, a court heard.

Chris Marriott, 46, had been out for a post-Christmas walk with his wife and two young sons when he was struck by Hassan Jhangur's Seat Ibiza.

He had gone to the aid of Jhangur's sister Nafeesa as she lay hurt in the middle of the road.

Jhangur, 25, drove his car deliberately at her, Chris, midwife Alison Norris, who had also rushed to help give aid, and his own mother Ambreen, the jury was told.
