THE unbearable grief relatives of Covid victims went through was hard enough to bear, but the dodgy PPE scandal that benefited the rich deepened their trauma.

Baroness Mone should have no role in making and passing the laws we all live under. Her title must be revoked

And they have called on Baroness Mone to be stripped of her peerage after a company she was linked to was found to have breached a £122million contract with the government by supplying unusable gowns.

The Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK campaign group warned the High Court ruling against PPE Medpro was "just the tip of the iceberg". The firm was given two weeks to repay the cash it was paid in the pandemic.

A spokesman for the relatives said: "Nobody who had any part to play in the PPE scandal, which cost lives, should have any role in public life. Baroness Mone should have no role in making and passing the laws we all live under.

"Her title must be revoked immediately." The group pointed out the creation of a VIP lane - which many claim was set up to favour Tory cronies in business - led to billions of pounds being spent on faulty PPE.

It added: "The Covid-19 Inquiry has so far concluded one of its 10 modules. As it continues, the scale of corruption, greed, incompetence and misconduct uncovered will shock the country.

"Greed and corruption during the pandemic have cost lives, and everyone responsible must be held accountable.

We want justice for those who died." Baroness Mone has been on leave of absence from the Lords since 2022. Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: "I hope she won't be back in the House." DHSC minister Stephen Kinnock hailed the court ruling "great news".
