Captain McGinn sets sights on double-digit goal tally target
-
JOHN MCGINN is targeting a double-digit goal haul this season for the first time in his career after bagging a crucial strike against Lille in Europe on Thursday night.
The Aston Villa captain arrived in the box to convert Jadon Sancho's pass in the 54th minute, doubling the aggregate lead in their Europa League clash.
It was McGinn's first appearance at Villa Park since injuring his knee in a January defeat to Everton which forced him to have minor surgery.
He returned to the team for the first leg of Villa's last-16 tie against Lille last week, before starting against Manchester United the following weekend and then facing the French club again in midweek.
Villa missed the Scotland star's leadership, energy, and goal threat during his absence.
