SAM Thompson wept as he finished his gruelling Soccer Aid challenge then revealed he defied medics who urged him to quit on day one.

The former Made in Chelsea star - who travelled 261 miles on foot and on a bike to deliver the Soccer Aid for UNICEF match ball from Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium in West London to Manchester United's Old Trafford - ripped his calf muscle on Monday.

He said there were talks about him being "medically discharged" but he bravely refused to give up on his quest, which raised £1,516,433.22 for UNICEF.
