GREGGS wants to open two of its branches for 24 hours, the first all-night stores, apart from airports.

The high street baker's shops are both in Newcastle and the move would mean hungry Geordies having constant access to a steak bake or sausage roll.

The proposals, which have been met with concern by Northumbria Police, will go before the city council next week.
