Sri Lanka achieved a historic milestone by finishing 12th overall at the YONEX SUNRISE BWF World Junior Mixed Team Badminton Championship 2025, held from October 6 to 11 at the National Centre of Excellence in Amingaon, Guwahati, India.
The 25th edition of this premier global youth tournament featured 36 leading badminton nations competing for honours. China clinched the gold medal, relegating defending champions Indonesia to second place, while Japan and hosts India shared the bronze. Sri Lanka produced their best-ever performance in a world mixed team event, recording three victories and three defeats across six encounters.
