Kandy Sports Club have decided against fielding foreign professionals at the much-anticipated inter-club League rugby championship, at least in the first round, set to kick off on November 14 that promises another action-packed four months of top-class domestic rugby.

With nine premier clubs in contention and a number of exciting fixtures lined up, all eyes will be on the defending League and Clifford Cup Knock-out champions Kandy SC as they prepare to defend their double crown.
Kandy SC will not be in action in the first week of matches that will begin with Havelocks hosting Navy SC on November 14.
On the following day at Ratmalana Air Force will host Army SC while Sri Lions will play against CR and FC at Longden Place.
On November 16, CH and FC will come out against Police at the Racecourse ground.
In a boost for clubs one foreign player will be permitted at any given time on the field while two players can be registered.

The undisputed kings of Sri Lankan rugby, Kandy SC once again enter the season as hot favourites led by skipper Tharindu Chathuranga the former Kingswoodian who will have his school mate Fazil Marija as the head coach of the outfit.
