Minister warns Postal Dept. to become self- sustaining or risk losing Treasury support

Reiterates reforms and investments being made to transform the Postal Department into a financially sustainable and efficient institution that delivers quality services to the people States temporarily shutting down postal services would burden the government and directly affect the public

Warning that the Postal Department must become a self-sustaining institution, Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said the government may be compelled to reconsider maintaining it with Treasury funds if it continues to operate at a loss.
