World Bank urges improving data system for Aswesuma program

THE Parliament Secretariat said yesterday that World Bank representatives have emphasised the importance of maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database for identifying eligible beneficiaries under the Aswesuma Social Security Program.
The Bank has also expressed its readiness to provide technical assistance and international expertise to strengthen the system.
These observations were made during a joint meeting held recently at Parliament, attended by members of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Finance, Planning and Economic Development, the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Economic Development and International Relations, Members of Parliament, representatives of the World Bank, and officials of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policies.
