GROUP A table leaders Nugegoda SWC were denied full points in the ongoing SLC Under-23 inter-club 2-day tournament when rain prevented them from beating United Southern SC outright in their match played at the Saliyapura Army grounds, Anuradhapura yesterday.
Nugegoda SWC had to be satisfied with only a first innings points win when rain curtailed play after tea with United Southern SC trailing by 177 runs in the first innings, struggling at 167-8 in the second, especially against former Sri Lanka Under-19 cricketer Pulindu Perera’s (4/25 off 18 overs) part time off-breaks.
