European Union high- level delegation visits SL

POLAND’S Foreign Minister Radostaw Sikorski visited Sri Lanka on 28-31 May on behalf of the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

Minister Sikorski has held official meetings with President Anura Kumara Disanayake, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath.
The agenda for the visit reflects the broad and close relations between the European Union and Sri Lanka in many areas, such as trade and development, democracy, rule of law and human rights, environment and climate change, maritime security and safety, and multilateralism. The EU is a steadfast partner to Sri Lanka in its efforts for economic recovery.
