A short 10-minutes’ drive from Rock Villa or The Muse is a silk factory founded in 1985, where six women continue Sri Lanka’s handloom tradition. Visitors can watch sarees, shawls, and sarongs being woven on looms, a craft with roots dating to the sixth century BC. Nyne’s villa staff can arrange private visits and encourage guests to support these local artisans by buying directly from them.
