De Livera, Samuditha star in SL Emerging team's win

WICKET-KEEPER/BATSMAN Sohan de Livera’s magnificent rescue century of 130 supported by left-arm fast-medium bowler Dulaj Samuditha’s match bag of eight wickets saw Sri Lanka Emerging commence their tour of the Caribbean on a winning note when they beat West Indies Academy by 75 runs in the first of two 4-day matches played at Coolidge Cricket ground, Antigua.

De Livera came to Sri Lanka’s rescue with a spirited knock of 130 off 110 balls (15 fours, 2 sixes) when Emerging team were down in the dumps at 89-5. They finally totalled 292 thanks largely to a 100-run stand between De Livera and Janishka Perera (38). The damage to the Emerging team's first innings was done by local boy 22-year-old right-arm fast bowler Kelvin Pitman who ended up with career best figures of 7/28 off 13 overs.
