THE Sri Lankan automotive landscape is shifting, and Tata Motors, backed by automotive powerhouse DIMO, is setting new benchmarks with a passenger vehicle range that redefines expectations.

Traditionally recognised for its stronghold in the commercial vehicle sector, Tata has now engineered a new generation of passenger vehicles that seamlessly blend performance and tech, sophisticated design, and world-class safety. This transformation isn’t just about new models—it’s about a completely fresh driving experience tailored to the modern Sri Lankan consumer.

DIMO Executive Director Rajeev Pandithage shares insights into what makes this latest Tata lineup distinctly different. “The latest Tata range showcases a bold departure from the past, integrating cutting-edge global technology with an in-depth understanding of what drivers truly need. These vehicles are built to impress not just in one aspect, but across performance, aesthetics, and world-class safety,” he states.

Performance: Where engineering meets experience

Tata’s latest lineup is engineered for dynamic, real-world performance, catering to a diverse range of drivers. The electric range, including the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, Nexon. ev, and Curvv.ev, leverages Ziptron EV technology, featuring permanent magnet synchronous motors and high-energy-density battery packs capable of delivering up to 450 km of range. Unlike conventional EVs, these models prioritise sustained power delivery and rapid charging capability and 8-year EV battery warranty addressing key concerns for Sri Lankan EV adopters.

For those who prefer internal combustion engines, Tata’s Revotron turbocharged petrol engines offer a refined balance of efficiency and power. Features like Multi-Drive Modes, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and terrain-optimised traction control systems ensure adaptability across various driving conditions, from city commutes to challenging terrains.
