CHRIS WILDER is out to make history with his beloved Sheffield United by earning them promotion through the play-offs for the first time.

The Blades have failed in all eight of their previous attempts and Wilder, who won the Conference play-offs with Oxford United in 2010, below, wants to “repay” the club by taking them back to the Premier League.

The head coach said: “There’s no negativity about us. It's got nothing to do with us in terms of past records or whatever.

“We're here to rewrite stuff, as we've talked about from 2016. If I'd thought negatively, I wouldn't have walked into the building in 2016 when the club had been five years in League One.

“Possibly I would have listened to the majority of my pals who said, 'What are you doing taking the job?'
