KANE ROARS A MESSAGE OF DEFIANCE

- John Cross

We went out like lambs but we'll come in like Lions

SKIPPER Harry Kane has promised that England will be ready for the Euros.

Kane insisted no one should be writing off their chances, because they have enough "fantastic" players to light up the tournament.

England are one of the favourites, along with France, Germany and Portugal, but Gareth Southgate's men were given a brutal reality check by Iceland on Friday night.

The final warm-up friendly at Wembley was supposed to be a morale-boosting send-off.

However, it turned into a nightmare with the 1-0 defeat raising doubts about England's defending and whether Southgate can find the right balance in midfield.

The Three Lions have less than a week to prepare for the Group C opener with Serbia on Sunday and alarm bells have started to ring.
