Warning over social media weight loss drugs

MEDICS say people may put their health at serious risk if they buy weight-loss drugs, including jabs, from unverified sellers.

Millions are expected to use fat jabs in '26

Almost one in 10 of those quizzed said they would source diet aids from the likes of Facebook and TikTok if they could not get a prescription.

Research by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) suggests 3.3 million people aim to use “fat jabs” this year.

The NHS rollout of Mounjaro, which started in March, is expected to help 240,000 patients over three years.
