Trans doctor 'put on big girl pants' after 'bigoted' clash

A TRANSGENDER doctor continued to use a hospital's female changing rooms after a nurse had complained about her presence, an employment tribunal was told.
Dr Beth Upton said she "decided to put on her big girl pants and be brave" after the alleged incident.
The doctor, who began gender transition in January 2022, uses the pronouns she/her and has been "fully out in all aspects of my life" since August 2022, including at work.
A tribunal was yesterday told how she decided to continue using female changing rooms following an incident with nurse Sandie Peggie on Christmas Eve 2023, in which the nurse had complained about sharing the space with somebody she believed was born male.
