Taxman eyes OAPs as triple lock boosts pension

MILLIONS of Britons will feel the taxman breathing down their necks next year when the state pension is set to rise to £12,548.
This is just £22 short of the point at people must pay income tax.
Campaigners are urging Chancellor Rachel Reeves to raise the tax threshold in the Budget so pensioners on low incomes do not have cash clawed back.
Dennis Reed, of Silver Voices, said this was the “No1 priority” for the campaign group.
