Streeting attacks 'moaning Minnies' in doctors' union

WES Streeting has called the British Medical Association “moaning Minnies” as the government’s relationship with the doctors’ union sank to new lows.

The Health Secretary’s attack comes days after the BMA announced a walkout by junior doctors for just before Christmas.

Its members are demanding a 26% pay rise, despite being handed a 30% increase since Labour came to power.

Mr Streeting said yesterday he is “genuinely worried” about the impact the industrial action will have on patients, and he condemned the BMA for “standing in the way of progress”.
