Scone-troversy over

THE great British scone debate has finally been settled after research revealed jam before cream is the preferred serving method.

Some 44% of us prefer jam first on our cream tea treat, a tradition known as the "Cornish method".

But 32% insist that the clotted cream should be first on the scone.

The issue has caused much controversy over the years, with enthusiasts arguing over which ingredient should be smothered on the scone first.
