Scaffolders shortage 'risks 1.5m homes plan'

THINGS are looking up for apprentice scaffolder Bailey Kemp after ministers announced a £350million boost for the construction industry.
But experts yesterday warned the plan to get Britain building could hit a brick wall - as there are not enough scaffolders.
Clive Dickin, chief of the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation trade body, told the Daily Express: "We have 1,200 vacancies currently. It will be a challenge to hit targets."
