Chinese star into final
RONNIE O’SULLIVAN’s dreams of a record-breaking eighth World Championship vanished last night.
The Rocket, 49, suffered one of his worst Crucible nightmares as he was crushed with a session to spare for only the second time in his illustrious career. Zhao Xintong, 28, dominated O’Sullivan 17-7 to secure the biggest win of his life.
The last three times a world semi-final has finished with a session to spare, it was O’Sullivan who inflicted the devastating defeats.
