Rogue steward gives 10k trail racers the runaround

A PHONEY marshal sent 10k race runners 2.5km out of their way after tampering with signs and misdirecting the competitors.
The woman impersonator buried one arrow, moved another and gave rogue verbal instructions during Acorn Trails' Castlemilk Woodlands trail race in Glasgow.
About 30 of the 115 runners covered 12.5km - 7.7 miles - rather than the mapped 10km (6.2-mile) route. And at one point they approached the finish line from three different directions.
