'Ridiculous' row over tiny gap between homes leaves pensioner with £280k bill

AN OAP has lost a “ridiculous” £280,000 fight with her neighbour over inches separating their homes that a judge branded “not worth arguing about”.

Christel Naish and Dr Jyotibala Patel fought a seven-year court battle after Ms Naish said Dr Patel’s garden tap and pipe were “trespassing” on land between their houses which both claimed they owned.

A judge at Mayors and City County Court found for Dr Patel and her husband, Vasos Vassili, last year.

But this week, in a case High Court judge Sir Anthony Mann said brought “litigation into disrepute”, Ms Naish, 81, had her appeal thrown out.
