James comes off bench to score with a late free-kick

REECE JAMES was sprung from the bench to save Chelsea's blushes on a night where they again shone a light on their own fragility.

The club captain was left on the sidelines for 56 minutes, with midfielder Moises Caicedo instead used at right-back.

But James' 95th-minute free-kick earned Enzo Maresca's side a draw they barely deserved having thrown away an early lead during a stinking second half.

Cole Palmer had them in front against the visitors, who had only 11 fit senior outfield players available.
