Record breaker is a real blood hound!

A BLOOD donor dog who has saved nearly 200 other pets has broken his own world record for most donations

Proud owner Sue Mitchell said Sharwood, her nine-year-old Gordon setter, has given blood 45 times.

He donated at the Pet Blood Bank around six times per year, saving almost 200 dogs before retiring.

Sharwood broke his own Guinness World Record of 40, set in July 2024, in November, marking 45 donations since his first at 13 months in 2017.

Sue, of Bedfordshire, said Sharwood had a perfect temperament for donating, noting: “He used to fall asleep and snore, couldn't get him off the table!”

She added: “[The vets] really make you and your dog feel special for the time that you’re there.
