Montagu's harriers come up trumps after 6 barren years

A PAIR of Britain’s rarest breeding birds have raised four chicks this summer at a secret location.

Montagu’s harriers had not successfully nested here since 2019.

After a high of nine successful nests in 2011, the population dwindled and they were put on the red list of threatened species in 2021.

But this year a pair have delighted conservationists by raising four babies in England.
