EMMA PULLS OUT OF GB SQUAD TO CONCENTRATE ON WTA TOUR SCHEDULE
EMMA RADUCANU has decided not to represent Great Britain in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
The British No.1 was initially named in captain Anne Keothavong’s four-strong squad alongside Katie Boulter, Sonay Kartal and Jodie Burrage.
But Raducanu has now opted to withdraw from the team tournament, often seen as the World Cup of women’s tennis.
An LTA spokesperson said: “Of course we are disappointed.
“However, we believe we have a great team and we're looking forward to competing in Shenzhen.”
Instead, the 2021 US Open champion has accepted a wild card for the Korea Open.
Raducanu, 22, is keen to focus on the WTA Tour and her progress with new coach Francisco Roig.
