MAGUIRE ADMITS EVEN CUP WIN WON'T EASE PAIN

HARRY MAGUIRE admitted that winning the Europa League will not make up for Manchester United's worst Premier League campaign.

The 4-1 defeat by Newcastle on Sunday means the club will finish with their lowest total of the Premier League era, with Ruben Amorim's side 14th in the table on 38 points with six games to play.

But United, who host Lyon tonight for a place in the Europa League semi-finals, can_secure Champions League football next season by lifting the trophy.

Maguire said: "It's been a disappointing season, there's no doubt about it. We've been far too inconsistent.

"The performances have picked up of late.
