Post-Brexit deal with India 'major win' in a 'new global era'

SIR Keir Starmer called his new trade deal with India a “major win for Britain” as he signed the pact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

yesterday, Sir Keir said the pact represents “a new global era, and that is one that requires us to step up, not stand aside”.

Mr Modi called it “a blueprint for our shared prosperity”, calling the UK and India “natural partners”.

At a business showcase event at the PM’s official mansion in Bucks, the pair also admired the Premier League trophy and watched school pupils playing cricket.
