Daily Express
|September 25, 2024
A POLICE chief groped a female officer and bragged about wanting to "comfort" the widow of a hero constable killed in the line of duty, a disciplinary tribunal heard.
John Apter made the "sexual" remark about Lissie Harper, the wife of PC Andrew Harper, as she collected a posthumous award on behalf of her late husband at an emotional ceremony in 2020.
Apter, who was chairman of the Police Federation at the time, allegedly told colleagues: "I'd like to comfort her in my hotel room."
