PM branded weak over mass abuse scandal

THE Prime Minister has been blasted as "weak and naive" over the rape gangs scandal. MP Robbie Moore also branded the refusal of Bradford's safeguarding partnership to hold a local inquiry a "failure of the British state". The decision came despite minister Jess Phillips using the perceived benefits of local inquiries as justification for not holding one at a national level.

Mr Moore, Tory MP for Keighley and Ilkley, said: "Within days of the safeguarding minister Jess Phillips saying that local inquiries are more effective, they reject it. I have been calling for this for years but at every juncture people such as Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, will not entertain an inquiry, claiming, 'This is a local issue'.
