Over-50s face jobs postcode lottery

OLDER workers are facing an uphill battle finding jobs in some areas, research shows.

A study has found “significant regional variations” in employing people over 50.

The Centre for Ageing Better charity, behind the research, says more than three times as many 50 to 64-year-olds in the South East are in work as in the North East.

There were a million more older workers in the South East, which the study estimated was delivering an additional annual boost worth up to £86billion to the local economy.
