ONANA GETS IT ALL WRONG

IN EUROPE’S gastronomic capital, Andre Onana made a dog’s dinner of two simple saves on a night when he needed to be perfect.

After trading public insults with Lyon midfielder Nemanja Matic, who branded him one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United’s history, Onana could not afford any slip-ups.

But his 25th-minute error, when he palmed the ball into his own net, and another deep into added time underlined his status as a liability.

United looked to have done enough to win the game, with Onana, whose mistakes cost Ruben Amorim’s team.

Amorim named an unchanged side for the first time since taking over at United after 0-0 draw with Manchester City in Sunday’s drab derby.
