New album...new era

TAYLOR Swift has said her songwriting has moved away from personal reflections on her own experiences as her new album The Life of a Showgirl came out yesterday.

- By Carly Duffy

Fans in the UK set early alarms to be among the first to listen to the 12-song studio LP as it was released at 5am, while around the world devotees held listening parties or rushed to stores to buy vinyl copies.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show last night, 14-time Grammy winner Taylor said writing new music helped keep her going during her gruelling 21-month worldwide Eras Tour which ended last December.

Asked if all the songs are inspired by her life, she said she was moving away for telling very personal stories. The 35-yearold told Graham: "In recent years I have a different perspective and like storytelling at a little bit of a distance, so it isn't like doing a complete autopsy of myself."

ANY real Taylor Swift fan knows that sometimes it takes a minute to truly GET what she is saying; I guess that's what happens when you're a lyrical genius. I feel like we all knew this album was going to be different.
