He's fine, but he's not alone, says TV doctor Hilary Jones

'My GP son was attacked by a patient with a knife'

TV doctor Hilary Jones has revealed his GP son was attacked at work by someone with a knife.

The ITV Lorraine star said abuse of NHS workers is common and must be tackled.

Hilary, 72, issued a stark warning that the health service is at risk of collapse unless PM Sir Keir Starmer takes radical action.

He told the Express: "My son is a GP and he was attacked by someone wielding a knife. He's fine, but he's not alone.

"I would certainly crack down much harder on people who abuse the NHS. Doctors and nurses on the whole are very forgiving if they get assaulted.

"It isn't all that unusual, people making outrageous demands, taking it for granted.

I won an Oscar but lost my waistline...

JAMIE Lee Curtis is a morning person. “It’s my nature,” she says cheerfully when we meet by Zoom. It’s a respectable 10am in Los Angeles but Jamie has already been up for hours. “I was out late last night at an event honouring women in film, so I got very little sleep,” she admits. “But I was up and awake at about 3.30am or 4am this morning. I wake up this way every day - optimistic and energetic.”
