Expat, 65, died after 'frenzied' attack outside her French home

A MURDERED British expat bled to death as she tried to defend herself from a “frenzied attack” at her home in France, medical experts said.

Guest house boss Karen Carter, 65, was found dying outside her home in the village of Trémolat, in south-west France’s Dordogne region, on Tuesday evening.

She had been on a night out with friends, including an alleged lover, at a popular cafe-bar about 10 minutes’ drive from her home.

Tests showed she died from “haemorrhage following a wound to the aorta [the body’s main artery]”.

The British-South African suffered eight serious wounds, suggesting she was trying to “defend herself from a frenzied attack”, an investigating source said.
