MIGRANTS could be prosecuted for helping people in small boats, the Daily Express understands.

The Home Office is considering more ways to launch prosecutions to deter Channel crossings. These include targeting those helping carry boats in and out of the water and directing groups on beaches.

It is understood that both legal and illegal migrants who help would face charges.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper will today unveil the Government's Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill.
