Matt's back with a bang to shatter European record

MATT HUDSONSMITH made history in Budapest by smashing a European record that had stood for 36 years.
A month after leaving his previous track appearance in a wheelchair, Britain's 400m star returned with a bang to break Thomas Schonlebe's mark of 44.33secs from 1987.
His time of 44.26 easily won his semi-final and left legend Michael Johnson purring: "That was extremely impressive - he's put himself right in the mix for a medal."
Hudson-Smith, a bronze-medallist last year, claims he has held something back for tomorrow's final.
