Love gets Boulter over line to make it six and not out

KATIE BOULTER said she was inspired by her Australian fiance and her new-found supporters - to help set a British record.

She made it six British players through to the second round at the Australian Open - the most in the Open era.

Boulter struggled with the pressure and Canadian world No.98 Rebecca Marino in a nervy night-time clash in the Kia Arena.

But when world No.8 Alex de Minaur arrived after his win during her third set, Boulter raised her game to win 6-4 3-6 7-5 in three hours 14 minutes.

Boulter said: "That was way too stressful.

"That was massively a mental challenge. Having him come out and support means pretty much everything to me.
