Lock him up for life in solitary

WE DIDN'T need terrorist Hashem Abedi's alleged ferocious, homicidal attack on four prison officers to know that the 28-year-old is one of the most dangerous prisoners in Britain.

His original crime - aiding and abetting his brother's suicide bombing of innocent, fun-loving kids at Manchester Arena is proof enough of that.

But Abedi's implacable hostility to this country and everything it stands for is now, perforce, confined to his immediate and permanent surroundings - prison.

His options are limited. But they are still options. Abedi already has form for attacking the hated authority figures charged with keeping him confined.
