Labour MP's brick wall cost taxpayers £130,000

...while his neighbours make do with wooden fencing

A LABOUR MP has come under fire after taxpayers paid £130,000 for a brick wall around his back garden.

One local Tory critic said rebuilding and drains work at Andrew Gwynne's home was "red carpet" treatment while other residents were given fencing during a construction project.

The bill for the National Highways scheme was discovered using freedom of information laws.

Tory councillor Liam Billington said that Mr Gwynne, 49, should explain why it was a "£130,000 brick wall for me and a wood panel for thee".
