Labour grandee Straw: UK doesn't need ECHR

FORMER Labour home secretary Jack Straw has suggested Britain should no longer be bound by the European Court of Human Rights.

He urged Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to distance the UK from the foreign court.

Mr Straw argued that the success of the Human Rights Act, which already incorporates European Convention of Human Rights law, offered the Prime Minister “a way through”.
