Grand Slam champion is ready for Major fun

RORY MCILROY achieved his own Holy Grail at The Masters - and now he plans to win more Majors just for fun.

After years of near misses and disappointments at Augusta, McIlroy finally claimed the coveted Green Jacket last month to complete his set of Majors.

He said: “Everyone saw how hard having a north star is and being able to get over the line. I feel like I sort of burdened myself with the career Grand Slam stuff, and I want to enjoy this.

“I want to enjoy what I’ve achieved, and I want to enjoy the last decade or whatever of my career, and I don’t want to burden myself with numbers or statistics. I just want to go and try to play the best golf I can.”

Don’t be fooled, though. Those are not the words of a man who plans to take his foot off the gas when it comes to the pursuit of more glory.
