It’s lift off for Amazon as drone flights begin in UK

AMAZON has started to test drone flights ahead of launching its UK airborne delivery service later this year.

The US tech giant has begun “a limited number of flights” from its base in Darlington but has not yet launched a delivery service for customers.

Amazon announced a year ago that the town would be its test centre.

The firm said in a new statement: “We can confirm we have commenced a limited number of Prime Air drone flights out of our Darlington fulfilment centre in Symmetry Park.
