Warning of NHS staff revolt if nurse is sacked over gender row

THE NHS will erupt into all-out "war" if a trans-row nurse is sacked, the Daily Express has been told.

Jennifer Melle has been hauled before a disciplinary hearing for speaking out on the torrent of racial abuse she suffered for "misgendering" a paedophile patient.

She was suspended by Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust on April 2 for potentially breaching the privacy of the 6ft bearded sex offender even though his identity is not publicly known.

He arrived at the hospital shackled by two guards from a men's prison for treatment for a urinary infection.

Ms Melle, 40, was initially sanctioned by bosses for indirectly referring to him as “Mr”.

In a letter, the trust told her dismissal is now a possibility as she publicised her case. She will discover her fate tomorrow.
