River of dreams...the Thames island which will be auctioned next month
THIS private island in the Thames is up for sale.
Hallsmead Ait, an eyot in Berkshire close to Shiplake Lock, is a 4.75-acre plot which boasts its own landing pontoon.
The island was bought three years ago by entrepreneur Jamie Waller, 46, for around half a million pounds.
He made millions through debt collection and starred in the BBC's Bailiffs. But he is selling the island because he is moving away from Henley on Thames.
